The honest MOQ landscape
Truly low MOQ (30 to 100 pieces per style) in Turkey is available almost exclusively in showroom-led districts: Merter, Laleli, Osmanbey. These showrooms operate as catalogue-cherry-pick businesses, where you can mix and match across colours and sizes within a model. Production-led factories in Zeytinburnu and Bağcılar will not run 50 pieces per style; their cost structure requires 300 to 500 minimum.
Categories with the lowest realistic MOQ
Modest fashion (50 pieces per style is common). Boutique women s ready-to-wear in Osmanbey (30 to 80 pieces). Knitwear with stock yarn (100 to 150 pieces). Open-stock branded basics (50 to 100 pieces with custom label).
The trade-offs of low MOQ
Higher per-unit price. Less control over fabric (you accept what the showroom is running). Limited customisation; some logo placements but rarely full pattern changes. Slower negotiation cycle on price because you do not have volume leverage.
How to scale up from low MOQ
Place small orders for sell-through data. Identify the styles that sell. Move those styles to production-led partners with proper tech packs and custom fabric at 300 to 500 piece MOQs. This is the path almost every boutique brand we work with takes.
