Market structure
Laleli’s commercial strip runs along Ordu Caddesi and Gencturk Caddesi from Aksaray to Beyazit. Many ateliers are above ground-floor showrooms in 5-7 story buildings.
Showrooms hold ready-stock by container slot. Buyers walk in, select per piece, and consolidate containers loaded same-day at nearby logistics yards.
Best categories
Womens occasionwear, dresses, blouses, modest fashion, kidswear and abayas. Fabrics range from polyester crepe to viscose to chiffon blends.
Mens woven shirts, suiting and casuals are smaller but present. Footwear is limited; most footwear buyers head to Sirinevler instead.
Buying mechanics
Most transactions are cash or T/T against pro-forma. Showrooms stock typically 50-500 pieces per SKU. Larger lots can be re-produced in 7-14 days at attached ateliers.
Container consolidation, B/L issuance and shipping insurance are handled by district forwarders specialised in CIS routes through Novorossiysk and overland through Georgia.
